Looks like water spots. Looks good to me.Is it the picture or does the edges of that pan look like its porous, doesn't look very smooth. Or is that normal?

So what needs to be replaced along with the new metal pan? Just the pickup?
Called the change back to aluminum pans back when the first ones plastic starting failing and everyone was assuring Gen II guys it was just a bad RTV seal.
I'm sure with enough time, RTV, love and caressing- eventually a plastic oil pan could be stopped from leaking, but, it's obviously a defective design. If it was a solid design, they'd still be using it. Designing, testing, casting and implementing a new aluminum oil pan on the line was NOT cheap.
Enjoy having a truck that doesn't leak oil.
If the dealer is willing to replace it with another plastic pan...and your dealer is cool...maybe see if they'll 'replace' it but put that new metal one in instead? Unless you're like me and you'd just rather do it yourself knowing it'll be done right...pain in the ass for sure.
If you can, take pics during the install for people like me who may replace a plastic pan. TIA.I got a pan, pickup, and new hardware.
