pismo/oceano dunes meet

Pismo is definitely a fun place to go! I lived about 3 minutes away from the dunes before I moved out here to Las Vegas. In certain months out of the year there's literally a river that takes the lives of many trucks that dare to cross through it (usually in the winter months) I would recommend taking caution crossing it or as I like to do, let someone drive across it before me to judge where the deep spots are and find a good path to cross. Also, while driving along the beach on the sand be sure to stay at 15mph (no more than 17mph!!). The rangers are getting more strict with driving over the posted speed limit out there. If you have any other questions regarding Pismo dunes, feel free to hit me up cause I lived there for about 7 years. I have quite a few friends in that area as well, so I visit frequently from time to time.

You'll want to watch out for high tide...

But once you get there you can have fun (and get stuck if you're not careful) including seeing some great vehicles...



Don't go out there without recovery gear (strap, full-size shovel, another vehicle with you, etc.)!

i was hanging out with ranger rob today at ocotillo, and unfortunately his name on the "maybe" list has become a "not going to make it" his work is not allowing him to make this one. at least we had some fun today to make up for it

Nice article I bin going to the dunes a bit. N taken my raptor out as well , from my expirience Aring Down is critical. Do to the trucks weight for one!
The times I got stuck was doo to not aring down or not enough I was rocking 18-20 in the front and. 15 in the rear. No problem!!

Also going up. Coming up in a angle is good too , will minimize high centering or catching a razor bak

Not a shootout. But, I will have my truck in Pismo for the February get together and will take anybody who wants to for a ride down the sand highway. We can also run a stock truck next to my Icon equipped truck and video tape it for you all to see. Simple quick seat of the pants test for anybody who wants it.
