Does this mean I will start receiving brochures in the mail for Ratpack cover bands and top rated hot dog places?

If you tell me that ill start getting flyers for Home Depot sales... this may be exactly what I was waiting for after all...

This may turn out ok....

location data can be monetized pretty easily. You’d probably only need a local google maps overlay to make very google like predictive marketing data. So yeah, this could be a concern.

Install is all done. I dont have my factory steering wheel on as its at paint shop so could not test all of those buttons but everything and I mean everything else seems to work. I did not play around much since truck still at builder shop and I had to get back home.

Few things they working on for next software update in few weeks.

1. only shows BAR not PSI on bottom of screen not part of factory sync 3 but only for the new display.
2. You loose the factory buttons for Audio and on Chevy/GMC version they make them virtual buttons. He said ford is more complicated and still programming that but its coming. You still have full control on synce display just like factory.

Other then that nothing else for now until I spend more time with it on anything not working.

It has so many cool features you dont have on factory, the audio sounds so much better then factory not sure why but it does.

I had waze navigation on and its full screen just like my tesla is. So nice to have a big full screen of the map. I had you tube app running playing videos full sceen. Basically any app you can put on a android tablet you can run on this since it runs on android.
I need to get a USB stick then replace all the images they have of a raptor with my truck.

For the price I say money very well spent. Give me more time once I get truck back from builder and will do some custom stuff more to how i want it but for now i am 100% happy customer.

I’ll install it tomorrow.

How do you control the volume without a knob and no virtual button??

Look on pic with raptor on bottom half in the bottom right corner is volume and you have steering wheel. What I mean was on gmc all of the hard buttons you loose shows up as virtual buttons which is not programmed yet for F150s but its coming. So still have bottom of screen and wheel for now.

Is there a virtual “tuner” knob? To be able to change stations and adjust your presets. As long as there is a volume button and a tuner button... who cares about those goofy buttons in the middle? I’ve never pressed one.

Thank you both for attempting and documenting this. Of course full functionality is the first concern for all, but many including myself have appearance as a very close second. Please include pics of the completely finished install from multiple angles and distances.

Question on the graphic display... Is it always a vertically split screen? Can you choose what you want on the top and bottom? I don't think I want that entire bottom screen real estate displaying a Raptor or generic city graphic all the time. Could you have the Sync at the top and a Nav map at the bottom?

Also can you include a pic of the camera displays? Can they be full screen?

Hi Guy, very cool of you to take the time to post this. I did notice the heated steering wheel icon was not on there?

This looks a little harder to install than I expected. It looks like I have to pull the steering column apart to piggyback the steering wheel controls as well.

Looks like the unit uses a 3.5mm line out to supply to sync3 input to allow for audio to play from the tablet to the sync 3 brain.

From what I can tell it is straight forward as we thought. It’s a passthru screen for sync 3 and the tablet features are kinda layered on top of it, separate from the actual sync system. It’s not all integrated. Apple play I imagine is not full screen as well. It’s likely what you see on your sync 3 screen now.

All in all it should work fine and be aesthetically pleasing. I’m just not sure if I’ll get time to be able to do the install tomorrow because without instructions I’m going to have to take my time and work through it.

Man I sure hope you don’t have to pull the steering column apart. I thought the unit was plug and play with sync 3. If that’s the case, the steering wheel control harness is already integrated into the sync harness. I assume just a software update is needed to make it work.

they did not pull my steering column 100% of what is needed is behind the stock unit no where else you need to pull from
