Mine still has not shipped. Part of me wants to cancel and wait for a software revision to fix all of this. Not being customizable is a big deal to me. It’s probably not open source, so unless Phoenix fixes it themselves there is no hope of anyone else fixing it for ourselves.
Can’t see there not being another offering from another manufacturer (or even a rev 2 from Phoenix) in the next 6-12 months. It’s the f150... there will certainly be many of these to come.
On the other hand... $585 isn’t that much to just screw around with and see for myself. Worst case scenario... I’m out $585.
If not having google contacts is an issue definitely cancel your order. If you want a huge map, excellent sound quality, and the ability to sit in Burger King parking lot and watch YouTube while you eat your lunch like I did today, this thing rocks. It’s not an iPad, it’s not an android tablet, it’s a 12 inch head unit with a lot of extra features that are head and tails above stock. I’ll never be able to go back.
If you are the guy in your group people come to for tech help, you will prob love it. If you are the guy who has to call his little brother for help setting up your phone, you should probably stick with stock Sync.
Like you said, it’s 600 bucks, and you can always send it back. I bet you won’t.
