This does not change the total suspension travel of the truck, only where it normally sits in that travel. Before, the truck had about 4.25" of down travel (droop) and 6.75" of up travel, for a total of 11". After this, the truck has about 3" of droop travel and 8" of up travel, keeping the 11" of total travel. If all tires are in the air, you still have 11" of total travel in the front to absorb the hit.

That all makes sense! Thank you for that clarification... I was obviously just overthinking things. :waytogo:

And, it really changes the attitude of the front suspension. The truck feels like it is more balanced front to rear. It is one of the best adjustments you can make. I don't think anyone who has gone to the middle setting regrets it.

I attempted this with 2 compressors a while back and didnt have luck..my plan was to add a 3rd or a forth. I just haven't tried it yet, but it looks like that is the trick

Had an appointment at the dealership on Monday to have the mid perch done, but decided to mess with it today instead of spending the money. Left them on the truck. Wasn't too bad first one took about 3 times as long as the second one. Did the second one in about 15 to 20 min. Key is lining up the strut compressors just right. First side I did I didn't have them even and I only had one set so it made it a pain. Love the look and ride seems great still. I'll get it aligned tomorrow and see how I like it

Is the alignment bad enough that if I couldn't get it adjusted for a day or so it would be really bad on it? I want to do the mod today but don't know how quick my dealership can get it in for an alignment. I have other places I could take it, like Hibdon Tires but I just wonder if they will align it properly or not.

When I did this and took it to the shop to get aligned the next day, it was BARELY out of spec. You should be fine for a few days...

Honestly it doesn't even feel like it needs an alignment. Was afraid to drive it around today for that same reason of not being able to align it till tomorrow but it drove fine. Didn't pull or ride bad at all. You should be able to drive it around fine

I finally got a few free moments to raise it to the mid-perch today and I it looks so much better. I did drive it a few miles this afternoon and it drove fine but I will schedule my alignment in the morning. Thanks for everyone's help.

Anyone else find it amusing that the "raptor" front end sits on a "perch"? Or am I 4 yrs late to the play on words. I think I'm going to knock this out this Sunday. Thanks Kaiser and the Brit.
