Finally got around to doing this. The hardest thing was getting the wheels back on the lugs by myself when I was done. Damn 35's are hard to wiggle around with no grip on the back because the caliper is in the way.

Thanks Kaiser for the instructions.

At each step, I cleaned everything up. I also sprayed the shock body with the Boeshield (as suggested by several folks). I was impressed with the coating it left on the shock and I am looking forward to seeing how it will hold up.

Boeshield is fantastic. We use that stuff here at work for coating the inside of our pumps that we have to ship dry (no oil) overseas. Puts a nice protective film over the inside that keeps it from rusting.

Hi, I'm new here and have a quick question about the shock perch adjustment.

I just got a used 2013 Super Crew Raptor with 13xxx miles and found this thread. I looked at my truck to see if the adjustment had been made. I saw the shocks are set to the highest setting.

My question is should I put it to the middle setting or will I be ok? I did notice the truck seems to ride a little stiffer than I expected before I bought it. That being said it is really nice. Also will I need an alignment going from the top setting to the middle?

Thank you and I apologize if I'm hijacking this thread.

That's my plan as well - don't have any in my collection of tools and wasn't sure what kind of opening distantance I would need to expand the ring and slide it up without it sliding off the pliers.

i used a small flathead screwdriver and was just careful not to scratch anything up. i had my shocks removed though so that probably made it easier. the snap ring isnt impossibly tight
