I did it about 6-7 months after. I really love the look and the ride but I'm actually looking at dropping back down to stock. Only reason is for towing. When you hook a trailer, snowmobile or my camper, the rear end sags bad! Just looks crappy. Hmm I don't know what to do. Mid perch is great if you aren't towing very often!

I'm setting her to mid now because I'm headed to Glamis in two weeks and want to minimize the nose dive. I'm also looking at the A.D.D. venom front bumper to maximize her approach angle. Those desert videos of rookies doing nose plants make me cringe!

Mid Perch or Not

I am trying to decide if going to mid perch is a good idea. I read on another forum that Ford and SVT did all testing on mid-perch, but D.O.T made them drop down to low perch for delivery of sales because of bumper height . Is this true and is there any reason not to move to mid perch?

Yea that's the rumor floating around but it's not true! They guys that did the snowball500 run got a tour of the SVT facility and that was one of the questions They asked them ad they said its not true and that they were kinda puzzled when fox made the shocks adjustable. But it's a nice thing to be able to adjust the shocks a lot of guys are on mid perch and love it! I'm on top perch and love it but I have a 2010 but it's not recommended for the newer raptors! I say go for it it's a better ride as it keeps the nose from diving when you hit the brakes.

Go mid. Everyone is doing it. Looks better. Levels truck. Little stiffer and less front end sink when braking.

Honestly, if you are towing, mid perch to stock isn't the solution, get better rear springs. I think all the major vendors offer an HD set.

I don't tow anything and I'm mostly a street queen (well, my truck is!) and my rear springs are sagging @ 17k miles. I believe it was due to being on the top perch for a bit... That stock rear suspension sucks ass for towing if you do it with any frequency.

Does it void the warranty?
