Anyone know where to get a perch mod done in the 432? I've contacted a few local truck outfitters and was turned down.

I'm sure you could get someone to help you with it at TRR.

Let me ask around midland. I know a guy, but he's usually busy with trophy trucks.

I am torn between 2 places in Houston for the perch adjustments.

Southwest Alignment: They have done it a few times for other Raptors and are confident. They are alignment specialists so I should be safe. Looking at their bays, they are full of Porshe, BMW, and high end vehicles.( $ 325.00 takes about 3 hours )

Off-Road Unlimited: They are Off Road Specialists and have a host of giant 4x4s and say they do this sort of thing all the time. Looking at thier bay's they are full of old trucks with heavy OR mods. ( $ 350.00 and they say 4-6 hours )

Anyone have an opinion on which way to steer, pun intended.

I'm going back to mid and getting rid of negative offset wheels... Too many issues with this setup (bearings/hub/cv joints).

(damn it birdman was right again)

Huh. Are there any confirmed cases of those parts failing due to the to perch?

I think for Greg it was because he has the Torsen and suffered from a great deal of binding due to the front locking up versus 2011 and earlier. I know my dealer service manager had issues with his 2012 when he went top perch and promptly returned to mid perch.

Ah right of course. Makes sense. The Torsen is a whole different ballgame.

Yep, top perch and using 4wd equals death to cv boots and joints on 2012 & up Raptors because of torsen. Ford must have been aware of this issue because they issued TSB shortly after 2012 were released saying shocks are not adjustable.

Both netix and I are on top perch and drive our Raptors in similar off road conditions (mud). And both of our Raptors exhibit the same type of damage to cv joints multiple times.

So I am making sure to advise everyone with 2012+ Raptors to NOT go to top perch. I understand the guys out in the desert/west coast do not use 4wd as much. That is why you do not see this damage occurring out there.

My buddy had his 2005 F-150 lifted at Offroad Unlimited and it rolled out with 13" of lift on 38" tires. Big ass truck and he knew all the guys at the shop. I've spoken with Miss Kitty that works the counter and Hunter (the owner of the white Suburban on 54s) before. Personally, I think the price is a little high. All your doing is removing the struts from the truck, compressing the spring, removing the shock, moving the retainer clip to mid perch, and reassembling. Yeah, it took a buddy and I about 4-6 hours with air tools and a hand held compressor. Don't get me wrong, it sucked and I don't want to do it again...but I could put $350 towards other mods. I'm surprised no one is doing it for less. If you can't find it cheaper anywhere than I'd do it at Offroad Unlimited or at LSURaptor's contact.
