what can be damaged by going mid perch?

Other than looks what purpose does it serve?

I like the look of it but how much damage can be done as a result of adjusting a shock 1.5 inches?

How about if it is just a street queen and not a hardcore offroad vehicle?

Truck was tested by ford at mid-perch. DOT height became an issue and it leaves the factory at lowest setting. That's what I read in this thread. So there is an advantage for running it at mid- perch of that is true

Well... Guess I'll just be having the dealership do the mid perch. My tires showed up today!!! A week or more ahead of schedule and I don't have any compressors yet! Hahaha, oh well. Another big thanks to Chris over at Freedom Motorsports!!!

Do you or anyone have a valid source for this?

Not trying to be rude, just this would play a big part in my decision to go for it.

All I have seen are rumors. I don't think anyone from ford will admit to this.

Go back and look at the notes from the visit with SVT last year before the snoball500. It's my post. (Sorry no link)

Ford never wanted the shocks to be adjustable. The pre load reduces travel. Puts the truck at a high that can cause geometry issues with the front suspension. Regardless - many have found that going to mid perch offers a good look, functionality when off-roading and a balance of geometry between bottom and top perch.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford ensured this feature is NOT on the next generation Raptor.

That'd be juuuuust fine with me if they go ahead and put Fox 3.0s on it from the factory. I'm waiting on the next gen to trade up and that'd be icing on the cake.

Yukon, what geometric issue does mid perch potentially cause?
