Its no fault of the Pedal Commander. There are a hundred things that can cause a backfire, but a faster throttle signal to the throttle body isn't one of them. Low fuel pressure, clogged fuel filters, old fuel pumps, lean air-to-fuel ratio, bad tuning, deleted cats, etc.

I've had the same backfiring on my car since I deleted the primary cats. Nothing when I accelerate, but as soon as I let off the gas, it pops. Sometimes loud, sometimes barely noticeable, but its definitely related to the exhaust.

Whatever man, im just relaying my experience. I can tell you, its been about 600 miles since i disconnected mine and it hasn't happened a single time since.

Anyone that installed PC have a tip or trick to easily remove the plug that is attached to the pedal. Definitely pulled up the red safety clasp, but for some reason the plug is super tight and I don't want to break by pulling or wiggling to hard. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Push where shown to release after pushing the red clip up.

Pedal Commander

Hi guys - I was hoping for some help. 2017 Gen 2 Raptor. I went to install my pedal commander today, but I did not get very far. I was unable to unclip the harness plug from the top of the gas pedal stack. I lifted up the red slider on the left side of the clip. There also deems to be black clip on the right side. I lifted this clip so it could slide over the locking extrusion, but the clip will not pull off.

What am I doing wrong. Seems to have gone very easily to the others posting here.

Does the pedal commander work with a tune? I have an MPT tune coming and not sure if the pedal commander will work with this tune and how it will improve it if any

Negative. Entirely TOO SENSITIVE. Unsafe to drive. Out of curiosity, I did it for about 1/4 mile. Immediately removed it.

Whipple tune with SP542s and Pedal Commander

I have the whipple tune and SP542 plugs and the pedal commander installed. I LOVE IT. Yes, it is quite aggressive but that's why there are 32 settings available. I have mine set on sport -3, and will probably step down at least one more setting, but I find it AWESOME. You just have to find the sensitivity level you are comfortable with. Just my findings on my particular unit.
