I went to my local Ford dealer for an oil change, and I ended up leaving in a different truck…. Traded my white 2019 with 125,000 miles for a 2018 blue with 38,000 miles. Both have 802 A. Besides the shocks and wheels, I wonder what differences there are between 2018 and 2019? The new blue one is pretty much like new, it even kind of still has the new truck smell. It rides so much nicer than the one I traded. I think the shocks were shot on the trade-in truck. The “new” one shifts so much better. Previous owner installed deployable runningboards.

One considerable difference is you downgraded your shocks. But, that is super low mileage for an 18. Good find. Have the phasers been done?

I preferred the "dumb" shocks over the ones in my '22. On the road anyway. Both nice but the '18 seemed to handle the larger bumps better.

Yeah, phasers would be the only thing. Then again, it's only around 3k to have them done, I think.

Phasers haven’t been done. I made sure that the extended warranty I got will cover that for when it does happen….(extended warranty did cover the phasers on the ‘19 I traded at 85,000 miles.)

That’s subjective and dependent on the use case. For a mostly street driven truck with only periodic off roading, the ‘dumb’ fox shocks are perfectly fine and by about 9 out of 10 reviews, much more compliant. I think the live valves probably are superior off road. At least until you knock one of the sensors off or loose and the suspension defaults to full hard... Speaking of - I’ve not heard the Jen Tres crew reporting this scenario where the shock sensor is knocked loose and you lose drive modes, suspension becomes pretty rough.

I guess they’re too busy with PPF? Or did that issue get looked into?

It has been brought up in a few threads. And, pretty rough is not accurate enough. lol..it is terrible. Makes you wish you were in a superduty.
