Hello Ladies and Gents,

Once again all of the details will follow.

The kit uses exclusive and custom made Fox Shox that are also custom valved to this application. Each shock has their own specific part numbers.

Well except for the rear air bump. That is the same part number that we use on all of our kits. And with that, we specify our own compression valving, rebound valving and air pressure. Tuning is key. Ensuring that the entire package works together in balance.

Fox 3.0" x 12" coil over and 3.0" x 12" bypass.

The larger coil over helps with low speed control.

(Low speed control example would be driving on the freeway.. High speed control would be hitting a speed bump on the freeway..)

Bypass tube layout for improved onroad performance.
Eyelets for cv and tierod clearance
Reservoir hose length, fittings, port diameters and size.

Just to name a few things.

Have a great day,
Corey @ RPG

Very interested because the scrub is one of the most important details for a "on the road truck" in the dirt you can get away with so much more... Hope we can keep this on the long track!!! ha ha ha

Scrub radius (The scrub radius will only really be felt in a slow, tight turn.) is one of many things to look at..
Some others to consider-
Instant center
Roll center
SAI
Anti dive / brake dive
Camber change
Bump steer... and more

My truck has a front track width of 92" and it steers predictably AND handles great on road and off road, and it's definately "Driveable" because I drive it everyday.ha!
what you might find interesting is the engineers at Ford that were involved in designing
the Raptor actually wanted it to be WIDER... the reason the Raptor has the track width that it does, is simply because it is the widest they could make it while still fitting
on the standard F150 production lines.....

Track Width.

how I did the math, but a little history first.

I have been fortunate to work with all of the companies that you have listed.
Geiser, Camburg, Racer, Jimco... and a few more that you havent listed....

When I was studing Mechanical Engineering, my internship was at PPI for 3 years. I was fortunate to work on Ivan Stewarts 015 with some of the best in the industry. Call Wells Jr, Ivan Stewart, Ryan Arciero (actually got me hired there), Robby Gordon ,Larry Rossler, Jeff Huber, Tommy Morris, Peter Miles, Jim Blackmore,.... When PPI moved to North Carolina, there were over 130 employees. It took an incredile amount of people to run a 2 Car Indy Car Team, 2 Car Toyota Atlantic team and the offroad program. I would often help out with all aspects of PPI.. One of my favorites was the 7 post Indy Car shaker. The oil cooling room was the size of my house. :) Lets talk about this at the next TRR or just go drive in the Dirt :)

I would consider 015 to be one of the most succssful TT's ever. Track Width 80" that is correct... not 90" or 92"

When I worked with Geiser, they were 92" wide.

Having just worked with Rick and Jeff Geiser, Camburg wanted me to design their TT. Per my design criteria on the Camburg TT, I mandated 92" up front. Increased track width helps for stability to a point. If you get a front end too wide, the truck becomes much slower through the corners. This is a long conversation to be discssed at a later time.

I have made $100's of thousands making Lighter and Stronger Suspension components for Jimco's.... working on another one now.... Worked on another Customers Jimco where we only left one chassis tube that had the VIN# for FIA and ISO

Racer, Rear Suspension Geoetry... LONG Conversation... Roll Compliance Steer, Anti-Squat, Drive Shaft Plunge, Driveline Angles.

Therefore, having taken into account my previous experiences, my cals were heavily weighed on 015 being the most sucessful TT ever and Current TT's at 92" to yeild 90"... I wish that the truck could be 87" Easier to get through the Starbucks Drive thru

One of the things that I love the most about Off-Road Racing is the desire to "Raise the Bar"... an example of that.. one of my costomers paid $6500 for a Clutch in his Class 10 Honda. Well you have to have spare parts, so the change over to the new clutch was over $20K.. just for a Clutch.

So our desire was to NOT make the truck any wider. But to take what has been done in the past and improve the system...

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Corey RPG

Big Scott, you lost all credibility with me when you started personally attacking Jarrett.

Sounds like you have some kind of vendetta against him for whatever reason. OK, fine, but this wasn't the venue to spew your emotional drama.

FWIW, from the dealings my friends and I have had with Jarrett, we would do business with RPG again in a heartbeat.

I think everyone should meet for a Beer and lets have Big J and Big Scott arm wrestle...

Can't we all get along? "Rodney King" Los Angeles Riots 1992 - Yes, I was there and lived through that one.

Come on BOYS - lets hear more good stuff that all these awesome manufactures have to say about their "Long Travel" kits.

BTW, Good job Charlie 'Raptizzle" - Nice Pics too...

Gary

So people know what Corey is talking about - here are a few pictures I recently took of the 015 Toyota Trophy Truck...

and a comparison of it's size to my Raptor...

I don't think BigScott would arm wrestle. He'd more likely wait until everyone else had finished and then tell them all what they did wrong.

ATTN MODERATORS :
I HAVE AN IDEA HERE, THIS COULD BE A STICKY ON LONG TRAVEL SUSPENSION. AT POST 20 CREATE A FORK IN THE ROAD. CREATE A BIG SCOTT TAKES ON RPG AND ALL THE RPG SUPPORTERS THREAD. SO I CAN WHOOP SOME WANNA BE KNOW IT ALL'S ALL BY MYSELF. They would have to be paient since I am way busy the rest of this week.
Maybe even open the bent frame issue again and the possible cures ? We have plenty of newbs that have not got a clue about frame bending gate 2010 ? or was it 2011 ?

THEN (I KNOW IT COULD TAKE SOME TIME) PUT LONG TRAVEL TOPICS ONLY IN LONG TRAVEL THREAD SO WE CAN INFORM ANY INTERESTED VIWERS ABOUT WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. TIZZ CAN GET SOME PHOTOS OF RACE TRUCKS, I HAVE SOME FROM SEMA, MAYBE SOME VIDEOS OF TROPHY TRUCKS IN ACTION, I SEE A REALLY INFORMATIVE THREAD DEVELOPING. ANY OFF TOPIC OR PERSONAL ATTACKS GO INTO BIG SCOTT VS RPG.

I'm ready to take all you ass tards on. Let's get ready to rumble !
