Quite normal for most engines these days. The one on my '00 LS1 catches some as well. Does anyone know of a higher volume can for the JLT unit? The one it comes with is tiny and needs to be emptied out often.

The Moroso has several sizes to choose from. One even has an oil drain valve.

Excuse my ignorance but are you saying the shiny particles are normal?

I think I am going to get the JLT oil separator, the question I have for house of you with the JLT, is will I be able to go 5,000 miles without emtying it? It am in Michgan and it seems that maybe cold weather drivers get more build up then warm weather. I guess I was completely blind to this topic for the last 3 years it caught my eye today and now I have spent an hour reading.

I don't think I could go 5k miles without checking it. I check that damn thing every other day. I worry about things to an extreme so I would probably have an anxiety attack over not checking it lmao. It's just so easy to empty just do it every week.

I've gone that far in night raptor without emptying it. It can get full. It really doesn't take long to do it. You can check it when you fill up with gas. Up to you where you dump the little bit that would be in there.

It's even easier with the large can with the quick drain. LOL
