I get my Mobil 1 from Costco. They put the Mobile 1 on sale seems like every other month. I just load up with 3-4 boxes every 6 months or year. I think it's like $25-30 when its on sale. Hell of a deal if you ask me. It's so damn easy to change our own oil in these trucks, so easy to get under it to get to the drain plug. The Mobile 1 from Costco is a no brainier in my eyes.

I just installed the oil separator a few days ago. I'll be keeping a close eye if I see metal shavings...sure the hell hope not!

They most likely use synthetic.
I'll look at the oil from Little Red tomorrow. I keep it in a jar on the work bench.

Quite normal for most engines these days. The one on my '00 LS1 catches some as well. Does anyone know of a higher volume can for the JLT unit? The one it comes with is tiny and needs to be emptied out often.

I just use the ford motorcraft oil filter. I change the oil pretty regular and am pretty cheap, so I don't want to spend similar money on the oil filter to the oil itself! Haha. Yeah, the Costco deal is a hell of a price. I get the coupons in the mail and they list the sale in there. Keep your eyes out. Used to have to bring the coupon, but now they've relaxed and give the sale price regardless, just keep and eye on the coupon catalog thing to check when it's going to be on sale.
