Update, after 500 miles I have caught 3 tbs of oil.

Which can are you using?

A lot of what you catch depends on what oil are you running and the octane you're using.

I do notice that the guys that run the JLT and leave it resting on the engine with a short hose from the valve cover are getting more than most.

Not saying the JLT is bad mind you, I'm just saying it may be pulling more than it should.

At least go full synthetic, if your not already.

Otherwise I really like the Mobil 1 Extended.
I'm sure others will chime in as to there preference in oil.

MTF, you apparently prefer Mobil 1 Extended to regular Mobil 1. Would you say why, please? I'm curious as to the difference.

It's made for higher heat running engines and Supercharged and Turbos.
Also you can extend the oil change intervals. Not that I would go past 5,000 miles but you can.
Better cold start protection.
Ford is using a type of oil in there newer cars that allows them to raise the interval to 10,000. Or when the car says you need to change, if sooner.
Like my daughters 2013 Titanium Eco-Boost Escape.

After further examination of my oil from the catch can I noticed it was "sparkly". I was tipped off that it was possible the metal shaving could be from the metal filter on the JLT unit, however has anyone else noticed this?
