Ok now lets say, you get about 2 tsp per every 200 miles. This all adds up quickly especially when you start to get up to 30k + miles. At 30k + miles that adds up to be a lot of oil being pushed back into the engine. It is a very cheap way of keeping things clean and running well. Not to mention how easy it is to install and empty out. i see no reason to not have one.

Have you ever added oil between oil changes?
That sure seems like a lot for 200 miles.
And it's all oil, no water like brown milky mix stuff most are catching.

@MTF this is the first time I have checked it, just installed it 200 miles ago. I checked the oil and was still good

Wow... I have a JLT as well with the newer insert but even after 5K worth of driving I only have maybe less than a 1/4 oz in there...

Has anyone with a Roush SC noticed super fine aluminum particles in their oil catch can? I installed the Moroso version during my SC installation and have put just over 500 miles on it. It has collected about 1/4 of a container so far. Everything seems fine and there are no unusual noises. I'm assuming it may just be normal break-in of the blower (I know technically nothing makes actual contact inside), or machining particles from the air charge manifold??

The oil is coming from the crankcase there really shouldn't be anything getting in the catch can from the blower. If there is anything coming from the blower I would think it would be going through the engine and not feeding backwards into the catch can. Now I have never had anything with a blower so it may be possible but the way I think about it the oil vapor comes up from the crankcase goes through the catch can then through the blower and out through the combustion process so I can't picture in my mind how anything it going back into the catch can from the blower.

Yeah,

I guess I cant really say it did not come from the oil separator itself... probably should have cleaned the entire assembly with solvent before installing it. I think Ill clean it up real good and see if anything re appears.

Thanks for the feedback.

There can be nothing from the Supercharger getting into the crank case.
Both Whipple and the Eaton units are self contained with there own oil for the gearing.
Only the intake ports are connected to the heads.

I'd find a magnet and make sure it's a ferrous or non-ferrous metal, first.

How many miles on the truck?
