I have a 10 mile rural drive to town and most times it's normal mode. Once in town it's loud and proud. Sport and Baja exhaust. I just love the bark. On the way back home it's back to normal for a relaxing drive with cruse and lane keeping. Once I hit the gravel lane to my home it's 4H and punch it.

Running a Gearhead 93 octane performance tune I typically just leave it in normal mode unless I’m doing something specific off-road or there’s really bad snow/sleet on-road.

When truck was stock I’d run it in sport mode, TC off, 4A ….but once tuned don’t really need the more aggressive mapping/shifting of sport mode & the hanging gears/harder shifts are more annoying for DD, I’ll occasionally put it in sport for a highway on-ramp sprint, but not really sure it actually results in quicker acceleration (tuned)

To be honest the one mode I’ll throw it in if I’m gonna really be hammering on it would be Baja in 2H for the street, but it’s extremely aggressive in all aspects lol- I actually think it changes the exhaust note too somehow, almost like the back pressure in the exhaust is altered from holding the revs higher or something but I’ll get pops & crackles on shifts w/ Baja mode

you'll get that in normal mode with baja and manual shifting engaged, esp if you hammer on it. i think putting it in baja mode amps up the speaker exhaust augmentation which could explain the perception of added noise

Doesn’t Baja mode have an anti-lag feature? That would be the reason for the different sound and pops and crackles.

I drive in normal mode, with steering in sport, suspension in sport and exhaust in Baja unless I’m on the highway for long periods then it’s quiet mode if my wife and 15 year old son is in there. I average between 15-16 mpg city 18-19 mpg hwy. I tried the sport transmission once but felt like it was rougher in changing gears. When I wanted to really drive aggressive, I would borrow my wife’s Mach 1 until I got pulled by NC highway patrol . It could have been BAD but it was definitely Devine intervention because I had in up to 125 mph but I think he locked me when I was slowing down considerably. Stupid as hell but dang it was fun! Heading to Charlotte next week with my wife for the Mach 1 Track Attack. Hopefully I can get the need for speed out of my system once an for all!

This. Baja mode keeps the turbos spooled to reduce lag and flaps are fully open. Was in tunnels last night tearing up Boston and this truck sounds like a super car at WOT. No idea why anyone would want to mess with the exhaust or need a tune, it’s perfect at stock imo.

It'll probably just make you want to go faster more often! lol. Where in NC are you? I'm right on the NC/SC border.
