My trans was replaced at 8k miles after it ate a gear. I have goosetuned withe TCM maping and it does the hard shift/drop coming to a stop at least once a week. Sucks.

It is normal if you make it normal

The transmission learns over time. If you have it in sport and drive it like a race car, it's going to do that. If you drive it like it's in normal while in sport mode, it is a much better, but aggressive still, style of drive.

It takes about 500 miles or so for it change around.
I don’t drive very aggressively at all. I drive it pretty Normal. It’s not as bad when in normal mode though. In Sport mode it’s done it a couple of times, but the one I mentioned was by far the worst.

I'd recommend disconnecting the battery for 30min and then drive the truck in normal mode like a grandmother driving to church for a bit so the transmission will relearn.

I've noticed over the years with my 18, 19 and now 23 that if I go back and forth between sport while driving like an a-hole and then normal and granny driving, the transmission get's confused and then just makes everything harder.
That’s good information. I’ve been driving like a granny since I bought mine over 3 months ago and just decided to put into Sport mode this weekend. Don’t ask me why I waited so long, because I’m not sure myself. BUT I freaking loved it!!!
