mouldman1 one thing to check is the back to make sure the trimmed the upper mount. At compression it will hit the mount so you need to trim it a little bit. I would check that first as see if that was done or not. I have icons and mine don't make any noise at all. The kings i had before made so much noise it was not even funny.

That is what I was talking about when I said the shocks could be hitting the bracket. He did have them installed by KHC so you would think that they know what they are doing or made the effort to install correctly?

they do great work...not worried about them at all. it could just need some adjustment, the side that is making that noise (and it's only when im in a turn hitting a bump) is the side that I hit at Rausch Creek

You are hearing the solid on solid contact of the valve as it opens and closes while fluid passes. This is where the ICON 3.0 rear Bypass shocks appeal to the on and off road vehicle a little more vs. the others. We have a built in hydraulic cushion in our ICON valve that reduces the annoying "clicking" noise to basically be non existent. We have not come up with a way to have ZERO noise, but it is certainly substantially less. If you feel like you are having an issue with an ICON shock that is not normal, you are welcome to send them to us so we can go through them for you. Might also want to check the nitrogen charge. If this was let out for any reason and not charged back to the proper pressure, that could create noise as well. (that would likely relate to any brand)

I replicated the problem yesterday and had the window open, tire is hitting the fender, need to make a few adjustments and it will be fine.

Yep. This is a known quantity. Here's a vid I put together showing the difference you can make by dialing them in (locked out is an extreme, but it gives you an idea of how adjusting them can make a difference):

(Sorry for the wind noise)

I was about to buy 3.0's and saw that video and thought the clicking noise would drive me nuts
If you made your decision based only on the noise, you did yourself a serious disservice. I've had them for about a year, and typically run them pretty wide open (very soft, meaning most likely to hear the noise). I probably have 20-25k miles on them now, 90% of which are on road/daily driving. And if you know anything about California roads, you know they're some of the worst in the country... and the noise almost never presents itself. Its simply a non issue unless you're rolling over those little road dividers all the time, or similar jouncy stuff.

And when off road? I don't even hear them then either from inside the cab, given all the other noises like the roar of the engine, the sound of the sand blasting against the sliders, etc...

To those considering shock options: be aware of the noise, but don't decide based on it. Its just flat not an issue you'll deal with often enough to be problematic.

Nope! Did my research, weeded through all the BS and picked the best shock on the market that meet my needs.
