No Synthetic until 15k miles??? Why

Waiting on full synth until 5k-10k is very old school thinking. In the "old" day full synth was too slippery to allow the piston rings to properly seat. Ring material and oil compisition have changed significantly in today's engines. Many cars today come with full synth from the factory.

I switch to full synth on the Raptor at 500 miles.

I always change the oil on a new vehicle after 500-1000 miles, then go to Mobil 1 every 3k miles thereafter.

It's probably a little too much "old school" for today's motor builds, but if it's a new motor I will make the first oil change just as Big Blue suggested. Then 1,500 to 2,000 miles later another oil change (both with mineral oil). After 3,000 miles I then would move to Mobil 1 thereafter.

so a question for everyone on here and im sure other might like to know, what brand of oild do you guys recommend or run in your raptor?? i know when i had my skyline (RIP) lol i ran royal purple full race synthetic oil and i loved that stuff would anyone recommend using that cause i have a couple gallons left over that i can put to use in my raptor

I START TO USING CASTROL FULL SYNTHETIC AT 8000K.5L FOR 29 dollars in special at canadien tire and i si the diference after 100k.

I switched at 10,000 on the supercab I used to have. I just hit 6,600 on the crewcab and plan on switching at next oil change as well, being 10,000.

I think I am going to run the Mobil 1 5w20 again.
