You'd (Jason) be better off putting a lanyard on your gas filler cover panel so you don't lose it (again) next time you're doing 200MPH offroad! :mrgreen:

I just got one of these .Due to the shipping charges it's cheaper to just buy it from the dealer . $24.99 plus tax .

Nobody stole your fuel door, and that wont stop them if they wanted to. Who you trying to keep out? The capless fuel system should stop people from siphoning gas right?

Nope. I've read of at least two lost tanks out of 09-10 F150s due to siphoning. This system might be siphon resistant but it's not siphon proof.

And also sometimes it's not about keeping the gas in but rather about keeping unwanted other stuff out.

I've seen automotive tanks drilled with brass drill bits by fuel thieves.

They just make their own "tap" by drilling directly into the fuel tank.

This was more prominent when gas was $4.50 a gallon and higher.

hi.. i came across this thread because i was researching on these locking gas doors that a friend suggested to me. so i'm trying to check online and compare it with others. in case i might get some feedback if i shouldn't even bother.
