If someone "really" wants your gas then they are just going to drill a hole in the plastic gas tank from underneath and get it that way. Very difficult to stop a determined thief regardless what it might be

I just got my Ford made locking cap and I'm very pleased with fit and function. Will it stop a determined thief, probably not , but it sure would on a lesser determined opportunity type thief or hooligan that wants to dump stuff in my tank for the fun of it.

Would be nice if it uses your regular ignition key to open... Seems to be a pain to carry another set of keys just for fueling.... Anyone try to change out the locks to match their car keys?

No way, the barrel is way to short, I just keep the fuel key in my center console with a key ring tab that says fuel. Simple easy peasy
