And I have toyos and think they are louder than nittos

I have driven his truck(Toyo) and he has driven mine(Nitto) we couldn't tell a lot of difference. Same roads and same day. Nitto might be slightly quieter but very close.

I can tell you that off road I have tons of grip with my Nitto Trail Grapplers.

To tell the truth they are owned by the same company my tire guy told me. But I love both of them have had them both on my diesel trucks the toyo seem to last longer on the trucks for sure.but it's all in how u drive.

I got a buddy that runs the Toyo's on his 3/4 ton dodge and he claims he can get 50K miles out of them. Anybody think thats possible? I know you can get more miles if you don't drive like a pissed off teenage girl, but under normal conditions can this be expected? That sounds high for an off road lugged tire, but I'm no expert.

I just put Toyo MTs on my new Raptor. I have had 3 or 4 sets of 35s on a gmc dura max that I drove aggressively and towed with and got about 50k miles out of each set. They are great tires. Just be sure to rotate or they will get louder

Seems like the Toyos are more popular in my area. I had the Trail Graps on my Tundra and loved them. The sidewall is a little more aggressive looking I think. Either way both are good to go.

I've owned both and prefer the Nittos. Both sets were run on the same truck under the same driving conditions.

Toyo MT
Pros:
-Awesome Tread Design
-Great off-road in mud, thick stuff
-Quiet (for a MT)
-Long Life

Cons:
-Heavy
-Terrible wet traction
-Hard to balance (with 5,000 mile rotate/balance)
-Expensive

Nitto Trail Grappler
Pros:
-Good looking
-Great off-road
-Lighter than Toyo
-Cheaper
-Outstanding dry/wet traction
-Easy to balance
-Long life

Cons:
-A little louder than Toyos on the highway

Of those two tires, I'd go with the Nittos. The next tire I want is the Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx, but they don't make it in the size I'm looking for. So, unless they do before I make my decision, I'll probably go with the Nittos.

Nitto is made by Toyo, and Nitto the cheaper brand. I've had 40" Toyo's on my H2 for a few years, and they ride fine. I currently have Nitto all-terrains on my Raptor, and they are nice as well. The differences will generally lie in the compound of the rubber, but for off-road trucks, I'm not sure if you're going to notice. As stated earlier though, make sure you rotate mud-terrains religiously or they will wear poorly and get noisy.

One area not mentioned where you will notice a difference is running hard on sharp rocks. The Toyo's (well at least they used to) will wear like iron and resist chunking better than the Nittos.

I've been reading though that sometime last year they changed the compound in the Toyos and they're not what they used to be.
