Sorry - more questions. This video sounds like it has the cam phaser rattle, or at least bad timing chain tensioners. Did you happen to check that? Also, looks like excessive smoking which was a valve cover issue with a baffle problem. Did you check that too?
Looks like d-spankie is back with a new username after his previous ban. The behavior is identical; playing moderator in the R forum and trolling EB threads.

Sorry - just see so many people think it’s “cool” to swap a “unique” engine into something crazy without knowing the flaws the engine design actually has.
Honestly, your 8.x swap would have been way cooler to follow.
I am not of the river, fast/furious, Gary pipe bunch, do swapping a 6 cyl in an f100 doesn’t do anything for me. Credit due for making it work, but a 2.3 mustang eco, or a 2.7 from f150 may have been more interesting.
There are no ”flaws” in the engine design you idiot. You can’t make it any more obvious who you are; stop trolling this post with your BS.

Really?? Seriously, really??? Can you tell me an ecoboost raptor (or any ford product for that matter) is actually reliable? When the CEO calls out their own design team as crap, the company has an overhaul coming. Design issues have plagued ford worse than any other manufacturer. It is not crap parts from COVID suppliers… it’s just bad engineering.
Ford tech always sounds like this complainer…

@BigBlue can you please clean up this thread and remove all of these posts and responses to them? dspangler is back from his ban and is attempting to derail @1966 F100 Raptor ‘s build thread.

You are a real prize
How do you know I don’t have 4 cyl and 2.7 projects? Here to inform you i have both. Here is 4 eco with control pack. 1966 F100. I also have a ‘66 f100 getting 3.0 FWD.

This is 1966 f100 4x4 with 2.7. Oh yeah the f150 brakes a easy bolt on.

The more you type the more people realize or realized long ago you seem to have zero understanding about anything!
No need to even make an attempt to explain all the reasons i picked the Raptor crate engine 10R80 over ALL the other possible combinations. I would be willing to bet its service life will not only outlast any vehicle you have owned but ever will own. Not to mention it makes enough power to scare you & it is so far over anything you could handle you chose not to like it. Nice, I built it for ME and it has exceeded everything I expected from it and then some.

Another challenge for you keyboard warrior.

Name ANY engine of ANY brand that you could buy new at time of purchase that will even come close to performance, low RPM TQ, reliability and economy, weight of what i chose for same $$.
Proof: i picked the perfect engine/transmission combo for my end goals.

A. While back i posted about truck i call
Eco2 I mentioned it was a donation engine from FoMoCo
Prototype engine that has Ford GT turbos installed.
Few photos of how it came about.

Link to DST who was in business 50yrs handled displays and specialty stuff for ford. Made cutaways etc

Old Facebook page

Engine cover that was on prototype torn off tag but enough info i knew what was going on. Now on permanent display on wall of shop. Of all the people who have been here only one person knew what it was.

I now have a piece of history! Conversation piece hanging on wall and the last engine to leave DST and not go to scrap pile.
Best part is I have the VIN and can show/prove this piece of history in Eco2
The truck extremely Rare in itself so last part of puzzle. Engine only had approx 2500 miles on it. I also have the Prototype PCM and wiring although have not tried to fire it on that but may at a later date.
I cannot do a "as built" because Ford deleted all the info like truck did not exist.
Fun Stuff! Can't wait to get truck painted and on the road as my long distance cruiser and tow rig.
I have adapted F250 Limited wheels to it but have it easy to swap back to the 1966 wheels for shows etc or when I want it more stock appearing.

Forgot to mention yesterday I made the call to Calvert Racing and a set of CalTracs were shipped today!
Let's see if they will give better traction to get some accurate Dragy times in. Hoping for some performance numbers soon!
