That works, for me if I can feel it when I drive that is good enough...I just have a problem with vendors making blanket statements of gains, there is no way they can make any hp to gains with a straight face

I only have my latest dyno sheet. 10hp and 10tq from stock with the same exhaust set up. I also have a 5.4 and the stock air intake tube was stupid restrictive with all the baffle boxes.

No offense intended, but without a before and after comparison of dyno sheets I remain highly skeptical.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead.

Henesseys I noticed has a lot of power on a cold morning when I first start it. I never thought that it was because it was drawing cooler air from under the hood. Its noticable too when crusiing at speed, then downshifting and flooring it. Getting the cool air under the hood helps. With the dust problems I've had with Henessey, I cant wait until Outlaw gets my Volant in stock. $369, cant beat it Volant Ford Raptor Cold Air Intake 6.2

I dont have the fender wells either, so that should let more cool air into the intake.

Anyone worry about dust with these intakes? For example, drawing in air from less dusty areas?

do you need a tune with the volant or any other brand intake?

also how quick and easy does it install? I don't want any chances with my warranty. I'm not doing a tune, and the only way I'll do an intake is if I don't need a tune for it, and if I can easily swap the stock one in and out for my 5k mile oil changes (they're free, so yep the dealer can do it!)

I have the older style volant and i love it, if only because of the power core filter.

The newer style one looks way way more interesting to me since it doesnt have the wide entrance in the fender for air (and water/dust/dirt/etc). So i may end up selling mine and getting a newer version and plugging up the ram air hole, and sorting out a snorkelish setup.

You don`t need a tune with any intake and it installs in less than 30min with basic hand tools.

Thanks, so then which is the better route, Volant or AFE? They seem to be the 2 big ones I hear about, and the only 2 that offer a sealed box?

Switched from the AFE to the Volant, after the AFE started falling apart off road... I've seen too many AFE rubber boots tear now, I wouldn't recommend them. That, and the metal AFE box started breaking in multiple places. Just overall poor quality in my opinion.

The Volant is solid. Higher quality parts, and the PowerCore filter is BAD ASS. Great intake. On top of that, I always had dirt residue inside the intake tube with the AFE... After the Land Rush 1000, being in the BACK the whole time choking on dust... the inside of the Volant intake still looked factory new, without a single spec of dirt! I'm sold.

Id go for the volant, its build quality is top notch and the new version doesnt have the negatives of the old version.

If you want an afe, make sure to get the donaldson filter from 5star for it. Strong air filtration is rather important for the longevitity of your motor.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Seems like the AFE is more money too. I may add a volant to my mod list in the near future.

Any other feedback?
