New Rear diff cover and fluid change

Old thread but getting ready to do a spicer cover.
Spicer bolts no good and reuse the oem is your suggestion?
Are spicer bolts longer than stock because stamp oem cover versus thick aftermarket flange?
Cover is on order and I don’t have it in front of me, I would like to have install ready to go when it gets here. Thanks.

Spicer bolts are longer than oem. I used them with no problems despite reports of bolts shearing. I think the spec is 14ftlbs.

I Used grade 8 bolts and had no problems.

As I was planning to change the diff oil, as I don’t remember when was the last time I changed the diff oil X_X (probably long time ago)

and said why not change the diff cover as well.

one main question, does the spicer come with a gasket? Or I need to use and apply some kind of sealant

yes it does, but I'd still order a lubelocker gasket. they seal better and they are about $20.

I have one more concern, does mid perch / GIESERS/EIBACH springs is considered as a lift, and I need to use the top fill hole? or just use the bottom one and I am good to go?

Use the bottom hole. You'd only need to use the top hole if the truck was massively lifted and the axle/pinion rotated upwards. Nobody does that on a Raptor- well, mostly nobody.

BTW guys, I contacted ford and asked about their ford performance rear diff cover bolts torque, and their reply was “20-25ft lbs” .

I asked them because I ordered the ford one, as the spicer is out of stock.!

so installed the ford diff cover awhile back. Everything is pretty straight forward but reality is 14 ftlb of torque is not much. I tighten up to 20 ft lbs plus using a star pattern to tighten and no drips no runs ect… diff cover is a nice touch and functional... win win...

Diff cover arrived, just waiting for the lube locker gasket and will install soon as well.
