New Owner reminder-Tailgate gone in 15sec. or less!!!!

ok i know there's threads about this but we usually don't search till its gone,
A tailgate lock will save you lots of frustration and a lot of cash , have your dealer put one on before you even pick it up if not then bring one yourself at time of pick up or do the 2.99 tailgate lock (Hose Clamp)minimum

Get it before the day it arrives because you will forget once they tell you.......Its Here!!!!!!

Can they steal it even if the tailgate is locked?

if they really wanted to, yes.. punch a screwdriver through the keyhole and it is unlocked..

but keeping it locked will deter lazy criminals

i also noticed that even with the tailgate up, you can remove the torx bolts, stripper pole, and cover, allowing access to the lock mechanism. so in fact your tailgate can be removed without damage even if it is locked. a trigger for an alarm there as well as a lock to prevent physically removing the tailgate from the truck is a must

No but my Brother has a 2012 fx4 that the tailgate was taken this past sat.

i hate to say it but i told him....... Get a hose clamp minimum,
then we forgot all about it till it was gone.

and yes it was locked with factory lock.
