Gen 1 came with load range D tires. What is the gross vehicle weight (not curb weight) on a gen 1? If it’s similar to a gen 2 … C load should be fine. C load 35s weren’t exactly common back then…if even at all.
Car and Driver shows Gen1 141 pounds heavier than a 2

BFG would have made whatever Ford asked for. The Gen 1 OEM tire was specific to the Raptor, just as every one since has been.Yes…but was there even a C load 35 available at the time?
Well yeah that is true. When i replaced the C loads on my gen 2 I ended up with generic and not OEM specific to the Raptor. Slightly different prices and different codes.BFG would have made whatever Ford asked for. The Gen 1 OEM tire was specific to the Raptor, just as every one since has been.
Back in college when I worked at a tire and lube shop, had a guy come in with an old Ram 3500 or whatever was the biggest truck before you got to a dully, and demanded we put on standard 8 ply tires because it was used as a farm truck and he didn't want to pay for OEM recommended 10 ply. We tried to explain why that's a bad idea but the man-child went to the manager and we were forced to after he signed a waiver. Lo and behold 2 weeks later he blew out all 4 tires while loading hay and attempted to get all brand new 10 ply set on our dime. Thanks to that waiver I made him sign it didn't happen. You shouldn't run tires with load ranges less than what it came with stock. Tire shops typically won't do that either.
