You're right! Let's consider:

* 500 lbs. lighter
* More power (450-500HP); lots of torque
* 10 speed transmission

Yup, the current V-8's will "always be able to outrun it."

You're right!

But this happens on every vehicle forum every time a mfr comes out with a new vehicle.

The Corvette forums are littered with haters who swore the new one sucks and they'd never buy one. And they did. Buy one.

Not a hater but when the checkbook comes out the 8 can outrun that 6. Pretty easy to do.

Throw the same amount of cash into both motors and the EB will be faster.

We all know with enough money you can make anything fast. Throw enough money into a 1980 Honda civic and itll outrun a stock ferrari.

No one is talking modded motors here so as it stands the new lighter, more powerful 3.5L EB will outrun the current 6.2L.

You still at this...

Yet if ford spent the same coin on the 6.2L as they did on the EB race engine the new one is based on then I am betting the 6.2L would be making well over 500HP.

Can we stop with the V8 vs new EB paper racing. Fact is right now ever 5.4L and 6.2L wins as that is the only thing on the street. When the new Raptor lands then the owners can start lining them up and trash talking for real.

Why are we all measuring **** sizes here?

I for one am GLAD ford changed it up for the '17 raptor motor. Most of us on here have the 6.2 and are happy with it. I love it! But why not see something different. If these new motors suck...then we keep our trucks and great for us...we got the motor you want.

If the new motors are good...then most of us will end up getting them and...good for us!

Options are always a good thing.

I see it as a win for us who have the current raptors either way. Am I alone here???

Agreed!

There's no need to argue. Been on a lot car forums and this is simply the best forum I have been apart of. Lots of nice peeps here and always willing to help.

#zanemasterx you are not making too many friends here so please just chill. The 2017 is 20 months away so I seriously hope you don't argue with every person here for the next 20 months. You will have your chance to support your case with your wallet. Let's see if you order a 2017 Raptor.

I agree guys. Stock for stock the eb will outrun the current 6.2. I am excited about the new motor and think ford has a good thing going with the eb program.

I like a v8 a lot for the use the raptor is. Heck I am going to keep my 2014 and get a new one when it gets here.
I agree this is a great forum. There are a couple bad apples here but that happens. When that new raptor gets here, it will be fun to try her out. I just love the sound of a v8 and the power u can get out of one though. I'm sure eb will be awesome.

Sorry for having a different opinion. Forums get pretty boring if everyone agrees 100% of the time, oh well. Ill go back to lurking since I do not know nothing and dont join in on the v8 cultism.

I am actually looking forward to the 3.5L TT. But there's no need to fight everyone here. All your post have a negative and augmentative tone to them and there's no need for that.
