Well I finally made a decision and ordered a bumper. I ended up deciding to cut the frame horns to get the most clearance. I am getting the SVC Baja with a 30" amber Blackhawk. A buddy of mine has a plasma cutter and is going to relocate the factory tow hooks to the frame. Because of cost, I decided to omit the winch idea even though it would be nice to have. I decided to spend some of that cost that I saved on doing a winch (and rear bumper from Rogue) for a set of front and rear Icon's that will be installed next month.

So a couple nice upgrades coming my way.

I want to thank Christine at Rogue for working with me on ideas and pricing, she was a pleasure to work with and would definitely look at Rogue for future needs. I think I waited too long to make my decision to meet their production demands and arrival timelines. Who knows I might just get that rear bumper. :)

Of course, Jeff at SVC. He kept an open line of communication and easy to work with. He is busy and does have those occasional brain farts but I am sure I am not the only one calling him. :)

ADD was great to work with and then to hear their venom's are in stock and will be bringing to Raptoberfest, so no shipping. I was so close a couple times to get that one, so close. If they would of posted the Raptoberfest deal last week instead of today......

Shout out to all the vendors! And all vendors let me get this through TMX so I can better support the raptor community with no affect in pricing to me. The only vendor that never got back with me was LGE. I have no idea why. I've PM'd here and via email and even spoke with Dale on the phone but no follow-up on what I wanted. Yeah, I could of tried more to reach out but figured other vendors wanted my business more. His Baja bumper is nice though and definitely a worthy contender to what I wanted.

Thanks to everyone else who commented on the thread.

P.S. My wife doesn't know any of this but I can't hide the bumper and I am hoping she doesn't notice the shocks but I am not that sneaky so I am sure I will get caught. She is my co-pilot at Raptoberfest so she might notice the smoother ride.....

Just a suggestion from a former welder here: if you want to keep the option open to re-weld the frame horns on (in case you need to return to stock), cut them with a zip wheel(cutoff wheel). While a plasma is a lot faster, the cut won't be as clean, and you will lose more material. You will also need to grind the ends because the plasma cut won't be nearly as smooth as a cutoff wheel. Again, this is just the way I would do it for a cleaner cut.

Just my two pennies. I'm going the raceline route soon so I'll be cutting mine soon.

I saw how a plasma cutter works for the 1st time the other night when he had to used it to cut holes during my tranny skid install and cut the transfer case skid. I agree with you. He has a grinder but it got dull when we were working. I'll tell him that I want to do it that way. Thanks!

Posted it in the other thread. Installed it last night. 30" that was supposed to fit, did not. SVC is working on making it right. Will post again once its all complete. Gotta to take it off to install tow hooks.
