You'll also want to get on of these. Worked great and I'm pretty sure night Raptor 1 is in love with it. He even stuck it to the table at lunch...lol
Just keep an eye on the price. I nabbed it for $38, but its showing $50 right now.
Amazon.com: RAM Mounting Systems RAM-B-166-AP8U Ram Mount Suction Cup Base for the Apple iPad Car Windshield Mount: Electronics

Here it is on the front window, can also mount it to the side window.

Aren't' there already threads on this subject? It'd be good if someone can post links to those existing threads in this thread so we don't try to re-post the same information and products. It dilutes our knowledge base and makes it necessary for people to review multiple threads when researching a topic.

Mike, I have several Ram mounts and can attest to their strength.

Mike, check out BigJ's awesome write up. Not all specific to IOS, but tons of great info as usual.

Thanks bro!!

Drop me a line when you want to meet up so I can return your hardware. I made an appointment next Tuesday with Jeff's hood film guy to do Big Blue.

Motion-X GPS is a fantastic app for the iPad. We use it on all of our offroad trips. It's very accurate, loaded with features, and easy to use!!

Like I've said on other posts, the iPad with the app running will burn up your battery pretty quickly. Charge it fully before any trip and keep it plugged in to the car charger.

I have both motion X GPS as well as GPS Kit on my iphone.

have used both, but keep going back to GPS kit.

just a far better UI and more features that I like.

both get the job done. But I just can't say enough good things about GPS kit.
Love it.

Not sure about an app but I have the Ram Mount Ram-a-can cup holder mount for my iPad and it's perf, got for it well under a hundred dollars.

Does it work when there's no cell signal?

Can you save trips? Will it navigate to GPS coordinates you enter?

GPS Kit looks great! (thanks)

My only question about GPS Kit and MotionX (or any GPS software) is will it work when there's no cell signal?

I've used mine a few times without cell signal up in the hills. Cache the maps and she works. for me it did anyways.

I love how it has so many friggin options. Will even display the track using colors accordin to speed, elevation, etc.
