GEN 2 Need some good rubber for new Vorsteiner wheels

Can a 35x12.50 r 17 Nitto or Duratrac fit as a spare underneath? I am hopeful the answer is yes but do know they are just under 1/2" bigger than the stock 315s.

a 35 inch tire is 35 inches tall so it will fit under the bed just like the 35 tire that comes from Ford. 12.50 is the tire width and under the truck, this translate to how low it hangs. OEM wheels are 12.7" so it hangs higher.

Thanks. I just thought I would check as the 315s are 34.4 and the duratrac and nitto 35s are 34.8

Nitto Ridge Grappler and Toyo RT are our most popular options.. Duratracs are great for snow country, from what I hear.

or
Toyo Open Country RT which are 73 lbs and F rated

I want to go Toyo but adding 10lbs of unsprung weight per tire is hard to justify.

Price is NOT a factor.

Goodyears are slightly cheaper (due to the $80 rebate) otherwise, Toyo's are close ($1400 shipped)

Nitto Ridge Grappler in 325/60/20 is 69lbs. They do rub a bit because of the slightly taller height width, but only at full lock and it's manageable. That's what we have on the 601s on our shop truck.

I've run the DuraTrac for the last few years including 275/65r20 (34) on my last ram and stock sized 17 on my current gen2. Great all around tire but a bit louder and shorter Life than the ko2s...

Ran the several sets of duratracs on my gen 1 and have had good luck with them. Got 60k out of the first set I had on back then. Seems like good tread life to me. going back to them once the ko2's are shot.

He wasn't trying to make a positive contribution.

People have been saying Toyo RT as well, but from what I remember those are also very heavy.

Duratrac have more siping than the Nittos and Toyos, which is why they are good in the winter and rain. I don't like the looks of a heavily siped AT tire though. I bought the Ridge Grapplers.
