Well...

I ended up stopping by a local Goodyear dealer who talked me into and gave me a decent deal on:

• 35x12.5x20 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar, E load rating & about 71 lbs.

Definitely mixed review on lifespan and difficulty to balance. That said, I actually had these before (12 years ago) and like them (non Kevlar).

Why did I go a completely different direction after obtaining all the good advice here....I wanted to buy local and have had good luck w/ Goodyear personally. I feel the local dealer will take care of me if issues arise. That beats mail order where I have to ship one or more tires back for warranty.

Nothing wrong at all with the MTRs. I run them on my JK. 42"s They work real well. Mine are the soft compound, so wear is not good but I didn't buy them for wear. Traction is great.

YMMV but I wouldn't run those on hard packed snow or ice. My 37s were so bad, I had to get rid of them 1 month into the winter. Hope you have better luck!

That was one item I stated in post one, these are not going to be used in winter.

Just throwing it out for anybody else reading.

MTR is a good looking tire with good traction in the dirt, but won't get you anywhere but an accident in a Midwest winter lol
