The more I think about it, Maybe best is to store a fob in the truck with the battery removed?? Allows you to get in the truck with the keypad and then reinstall the battery and you are good to go again?
Thoughts?? With my previous Dodges I've just always had a spare key hidden outside with the non-proximity fob hidden inside.

If you have the Ford Pass app and if you have your phone (not locked in the car), you should be able to unlock it and start it with that.

When it is on remote start mode, can it be driven, or do you need a fob with you??
Just thinking if I lose my fob while away...

Try to remove battery no luck. Use foil worked well. You need a fob to drive truck when remote started.

I tried foil over the Fob placed inside my console safe, then later discovered it was somehow allowing me to start the truck.

The truck is a '17 and you have lost BOTH key fobs it came with - wow! The truck can't be driven without a fob present.

There is NO way to start your vehicle so you can DRIVE it away without the Remote (fob). The remote it programmed to your vehicle (PATS) so your vehicle will recognize it and start with it inside the vehicle. The physical old school key that is inside the remote is ONLY, as mentioned before, to open your drivers door incase your car battery has died and you cannot get in so you can pop your hood to get a jump or battery replacement or to lock/unlock your center console/glove box, it will NOT start your vehicle. If you have lost both remotes, your vehicle has to be towed to a dealer and they have to cut/program TWO remotes, that's the only way to do it. At my dealer, we require the OWNERS Drivers License, and proof of owner ship if the vehicle was not purchased there because we would not have the key code to program the remote. If you are in the area of where you bought your truck then they should have your info and save you from some paperwork hassle. Unfortunately, this will cost you around 5-$600 for this mistake.

Good grief . Just get a rfid bag, put a spare fob in it. Bury under back seat. Use keypad to get in, get fob and carry on.

How much does it cost to get an extra Remote? I could put it in the truck as noted above by dewalt and never worry about losing my "key."

If you have 2 remotes look on ebay and program yourself. You do not need tailgate release for a hid key. Somebody on here has the mustang programming that works good. And if you lose a remote you can still program another one .

Best safety compartment in the truck is behind the back seats. I tried for about five minutes and couldnt get either of mine to effing fold down lol. Great idea to stash the extra fob back there and then remember your keypad code (which I haven't even looked at yet).
