Need some help! I have previously wired up 10 different Rigid lights with no issues, now my 11th one is giving me some problems.:banghead:
When I turn on the up-fitter switch the light does not come on and after a few seconds I hear a faint "pist" noise, check the fuse and its blown. So turned every thing off change the burnt 10 amp fuse to a 15 amp and the same thing happens again.:whymewhyme:
Up-fitter switch #4 with 4" Rigid E-Series.

how many items are hooked up to that switch? what else have you added to it recently?

Just the one light hooked up, the second 4" is on back order, first time wiring anything to #4 up-fitter switch.

Kinda sounds like something is grounded out. Does it still go pow if the light isn't hooked up?

I agree but cant seem to track it down.
I will check and see if a fuse popes with the light off.

I just plugged the light up to the plug and play harness & a battery and it lights up with no issues.
Somethings must be wrong with the Rigid Raptor harness that goes to the up-fitter lead?

I just cut off my zip ties and removed the sheathing from the harness and cant see any place that it might be shorting, so the harness seems fine.
I will try and get some pictures but you probably wont see much. I used shrinkable butt connectors with a shrink tube on top, then a sheathing and taped the sheathing in place. Dam now I will have to take all that apart.
I will keep investigating. Any ideas are appreciated.

use a meter and test for ground at the wire. also use it to check the switch too.

I am downloading some pictures.
I tested the plug with a test light and nothing, no doubt because the fuse keeps blowing, but the switch lights up when you turn it on even though the fuse is blown. The ground is grounded with my other lights and they work fine.
