Alright so without hijacking this thread or creating yet another magnapack thread, I have a quick question....

Going to buy the #14419 magnapack (the popular one) and install in place of stock muffler keeping stock res (maybe downturned or lightning style exit) but I was wondering if it is going to be toooo loud for everyday so my thoughts were maybe go to the 5" round (instead of 4") version of the magnapack to quiet down just a tad. Any experience here with that one?

I'm right there with you on the choice.

Yea I love the way the 4" magnapack sounds but I'm just worried that after I get it I'll want it a lil quieter for everyday. I don't mind loud, but I don't always need LOUD ya know? Just wondering if the 5" will do the trick.

Anything you do to the system will make it louder. If you look for loud you will probably get more than you bargained for. My experience anyway.

Today I took my muffler off. Left the resonator.
HOLY **** it sounds so badd!!!
Does anyone think this resonator only setup could be damaging? If not I think i'll pay my local muffler shop buddy to dump it out the side "lightning" style and see what the sound level is like.
After doing this muffler delete, i'm very tempted to go to BA and ask for a Lightning exit Hemholtz system, something that sounds this badd with less drone is incredible appealing.

Dirtydeeds? haha

I can do that no problem. A straight pipe that bolts on behind the stock resonator, using stock hardware, stock hanger locations, and exits out the side before the rear wheel. Best of all, there is already a helmholtz resonator built into the system.

Race car sound at full throttle, mellow at cruise, and best of all, doesn't break the bank since it is very simple.

How much for that setup?

I don't know how some of you guys handle the drone. I had a Audi A4 with a test pipe and the drone was brutal around 75mph. That car is a hangover's nightmare.

Hi dirtydeeds. I am wondering if you could make a custom Helmholtz set up for me? I have sw headers with the x pipe and 2 magna packs. Thanks
