Read the entire thread and a few things stood out.
1. Use a tablet with cell coverage capability for the GPS
2. Use GAIA
3. Damn, wish
@CoronaRaptor was still here.
Questions:
Do you need or does an external GPS antenna work better?
How does this android auto thing connect to the truck?
Spike is correct, the GAIA APP works on my phone with No Cell Coverage.
Ipad, No Cel chip or whatever, GIA No Work we I loose cell coverage.
Connect to External GPS, IPAD now works like a champ.
**NOTE** I connect BOTH the phone and IPad to to EXTERNAL GPS (via blue tooth)
THE BIG ADVANTAGE is a more accurate location and tracking on the devices. Without connecting my phone to the External GPS, the GAIA app will LAG behind in tracking/location with moving by Raptor. On 4xFoot this isn’t an issue, in the Raptor/or any vehicle it is a problem.
The phone connects to the RAPTOR SCREEN, with a USB cable and then your GAIA APP, will mirror on your Raptor screen use CarPlay or the Android thing I believe.
It work the same without the USB cable, someone here might know, I’ve never tried it.
I’m extremely low-tech, so if anyone can chime is with the technical knowledge, it is appreciated.
