Hopefully you sell it for what you want. Your post above is silly. I paid cash for my Raptor and enjoy it greatly. I don't have any unrealistic expectations. I have plenty of off-road experience. Crawling to high speed desert. The Raptor is a great truck.

Enjoy your ram.

Your post is not silly (remember, you will be attacked if you have a negative opinion of the Raptor).

It’s a perspective, that may or may not hold water.

You could interpret it to mean that cash buyers are more affluent and have experience with higher quality, or higher performing vehicles in this price range... thus higher expectations.

Loan guys are probably stretching financially for the Raptor and from their automotive experience, the Raptor is the best vehicle they have ever had.

That’s a big generalization by a sales manager based on his own personal observation and opinion. Everyone has different preference when it comes to vehicles. I know people who love their Mercedes C63 AMG, which is around the same price range as the Raptor depending on options, but for me, I’d hate it because I get claustrophobic in cars. I’m a truck guy. Among all the trucks I’ve driven, including the new Ram Rebel with air suspension, I prefer the Raptor’s ride and handling more. Some people might prefer the Rebel more. To each his own.

To criticize people who like Raptors because you bought a truck that you didn’t like is silly. You “expecting more” from a truck because you thought you spent a hell of a lot of money shows that you probably should have spent less (maybe on a Ram) so your expectation is more tuned. For me, and many others, I’d rather spend $70k on a truck that I truly like than $50k on a truck because it was “a good deal”. Maybe that’s why I haven’t gone through 200-300 cars over the span of my life.

Lol. Sounds like you and the original poster have everyone all figured out. Y'all should go out back compare financial statements and rub peckers. Hilarious.

Honestly it sounds like you bit off more than you could chew with your purchase and a scrambling to justify it with vague “it’s not worth it”

Enjoy your ram

I was buying parts today (at the dealer) and I bumped into a sales manager that I know. I shared my thoughts on the Raptor with him and told him about this post, as well the reaction of some.

He said customer satisfaction is always higher for people that don't own the vehicle compared to those who pay cash. In most cases the dealer sells vehicles to people that cant get financing or cant get financing at a reasonable rate. The buyer feels indebted and the dealer returns the favor by charging them more money (I knew that). People that own have higher expectations (owner) vs (renter).

He told a story of a car hauler that had a incident, all the vehicles had damage, the dealer offered to loan vehicles and fix the damage as well offered 2 months no payment or 2k off for the cash buyers.. All the people that paid cash declined and requested refunds or reordered, all the financed accepted the offer. He said it not a great comparable but it makes a point.

This post is probably off topic but it may explain why Raptor owners have such polar opposite opinions. I paid cash and I was expecting more, some folks make a point that it is a baja specific vehicle, we don't have any baja trails in Canada ( or very few) so I cant be the only one who bought one thinking it may cover other bases as well.

Fair enough, I put it up for sale, if I don't take too big a bath it will be gone, if not I will add a power program and look in to enhancing the stereo. I am not a big stereo guy but when I hop from one vehicle to another it is noticeable.

I am a right winger, I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, to each their own.

No worries, you will NOT HEAR ANOTHER NEGATIVE PEEP from me. This will be my last post, you can all breath a collective sigh of relief ;o)

I am now selling this legendary truck because I do not have the skills required or knowledge to appreciate it.. Bring your offers and take advantage of this unique opportunity !!

I feel like for what you're looking for putting it up for sale was definitely the right choice. Its not just baja style terrain it covers well. Its very versatile and excels in most off road terrain. I think you're looking for something that's more aimed towards on road performance. Good luck with your new vehicle whatever it is that you choose.
