Well you don't blow the curtain bags which is a HUGE help. Hopefully the frame isn't "banana'd". I doubt that you canget away with "skining" the doors but i dont know. Can you open the doors an see a shape change in the door jam rocker? Hopefully it didn't push in the "b" pillar either. It would be best to set the truck up on an frame alignment rack, tie it down and get out the measuring sticks and tape measure. Too bad this happened but I wish it happened sooner. My uncle had a whole passenger cab side sitting in his collision shop a little while back. Damn. It would have almost worked out perfect. I'll see if he still has it. Might I make a suggestion, if it is totaled, pick a bright colored truck? Lol. The more visible you are, maybe you'll be less likely a victim of a traffic accident where the other person won't say "I didn't see you". Lol. Just saying. I'll find out about the cab side tomorrow

It might be totalled. My damage looks just like this, but worse on the wheel. http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f6/2012-owner-now-2013-owner-16646/#post264815

The truck cost me $62k, it was $52k MSRP 14 months ago. 2011 crew.
I had $12k of upgrades in it.

I put $12k? down and traded in a $5k car (about $17k down total)
I owe $40k to date.

Anyone have any advice? Just sayin :) PM me too if its "controversial"

First off glad you and everyone was involved is ok

I am not an insurance specialist so I am just speaking from experience...

1 - I would check the coverage on the vehicle and owner at fault...most folks carry only $50k on property damage...so anything over his coverage limits you might need to file suite...

2 - How your mods are covered is different from Company to Company...

3 - I am confused you paid $62k but the MSRP was $52k? I doubt you would get MSRP much less more than that...

4 - in an ideal world you should get what you paid for the truck plus your receipts that total the $12k in upgrades...

5 - since you are not at fault, you are in a better position...since the owner's insurance does not want to deal with you involving a lawyer or the possibility of a medical payout on top of the vehicle loss and any additional costs like time off from work, pain and suffering, etc...

6 - thus I would request them to make you whole for what you have in the truck

7 - if you get the slightest feeling you are being ****** around, speak with an Attorney...not just an ambulance chaser but one with some credibility and knowledge with insurance law...you can look at retaining services on a hourly rate or contingency basis...

8 - go to the doctor and get yourself checked out...the normal payout is at least 2x any medical bills...

That's all I got....

If they do total it out, you should ask them how much it would be to buy it back. It'd have a salvage title but you could have one he'll of a toy at hopefully half the cost

First off I am not an insurance adjuster.

Secondly, I have to agree with most of the points "Fred" made.

However, based on the pictures that does not look like a "total" to me. Unless of course there is frame damage etc. You would have to have somewhere around 20-25k in damage for it to be totaled (mods don't count). Coverage of after market additions depends on policy and might have zero coverage, meaning you get zilch. Get yourself checked out and good luck with this process.

I think she may have been stoned. She was yelling at people passing by, had no reality of where she was at, at one point she was just walking around the intersection confused, had her headlights off, missed her turn, ran a red light.
