Has anyone tried getting power in through the trailer wiring to unlock the doors? That would be a slick way to do it. Any portable 12 volt battery would work.

You could also make your own plug like those included with trickle chargers. Those wire straight to the battery terminals and have a waterproof cap on the connector end. Then just tuck the connector end up under the bumper. You would just need to have another connector and a 12 volt power source or jump. I have an unused trickle charger in the garage with all the correct wires.
Yep just donthis and leave it in the truck! [emoji1787]

Seriously tho what happens when you’re on the road or a road trip....

Does anyone know if the technology package included the Ford Perimeter Plus Security System?

My understanding is the "plus" part of this is not provided in the tech package and needs to be installed separately.

What's the cost of the primed handle itself? How long does it take for each one for you?

Well, I think you can get the door handles for $100-120 or so. I can get base paint for $10 from automotive touch up, which will be as close a match that we can get, and then $20 for the clear. The base and clear will do quite a few handles, but the clear is 2k so they all have to be done at once, or I have to buy more. Further, I suspect everyone will have different colors. So essentially we'd be looking at $100+shipping, and then my cost and time.

If I had, say, five blue handles to paint all at once, then $30 would be my cost on paint, and so maybe $30 for my cost (per person) would mean a total of $140ish per person, not including shipping. But if it was just for one person, then if I charged $60 I'd only make $30 in an hour. Still would be consider doing it, but I'm not sure what everyone is willing to pay. Some might think $160 and shipping too much.

It would take a few days to get the handle(s), and then I'd wait for a good day on the weekend to paint, followed by a day or two of drying. I don't expect any defects, but after drying time I could sand and polish any out. So basically a weekend of fair weather.

I have two main concerns - 1, what door handle will work as intended, since I don't know if the rear driver door has the touch unlock function, and I'm not sure if the passenger side will 'flip' into the correct position, and 2, logistics.

Alternatively, if someone is impatient, or wants to save money, I can send videos and the site I'd be purchasing products from, to show you how to do it yourself. The handle comes apart pretty easy - the hardest part is taping off the thumb lock for 802a builds.

I think that sounds fair for your time. The handle would have to be from the front passenger door as it has the button and is the=same as driver minus the lock barrel.

Cool, just wanted to verify as I had not checked myself. I can't check retail price at the moment, but I recall I paid between $100 and $120 when I thought I was going to have to replace my driver door handle due to the last shop's screw up. Didn't end up needing to keep it so I sent it back.

For those interested in this option, please let me know your color, and the max you'd be willing to pay (not included shipping). One final note: the color may not be a perfect match, because to trick your eyes you'd need to blend into the door, which would be problematic to say the least. Unless you are OCD like me, in certain light, and looking very closely, you shouldn't notice, especially given the curvature of the assembly, but I do want to set your expectations properly.
