On a 5600 lb vehicle equipped w/ all the electronic nannies & a 10 speed tranny, a lot of the actual tangible performance improvement from tuning comes by way of the tranny/TCM adjustments not the ECM/boost/AF adjustments.
MPT probably more aggressive overall in both categories, but regardless how much more Hp you’re making- if the tranny logic is reducing shift torque, skipping gears, shifting up too soon or not downshifting to the optimal starting gear from a WOT application, dialing in TQ mgmt between shift points, etc etc all that extra power doesn’t mean squat b/c it’s bottlenecking/being restricted by the tranny.
i understand the trans comes to play that is obvious to me, the tuners do tune the trans as well, so it shifts to the correct gear every time, i have not had any issues with that.
