Here we go again…. SW headers + corsa exhaust = ***** dropper.

Yeah, this is a muffler thread, for those who are looking to simply upgrade the factory muffler. If it were one of the hundreds of Header/Cat-Back threads your suggestion might be relevant.

Had my Borla ProXS 40349 welded in on Friday. Kept the cats, resonator, and factory exit. It sounds awesome. Nice deep, loud start-up. Can be mild or wild depending on how hard you accelerate. Slight drone around 65mph. No drone 70+. Sounds badass at WOT. Overall, nice deep exhaust with a good tone that sounds badass when you get on it, but mild enough for cruising.

Got it for $108 shipped from Streetside Auto. Paid a local muffler shop to weld it in.

I replaced the factory muffler with the Borla 40349 and left everything else in place; resonator untouched, rear pipes remain and it's perfect. A nice growl at start up and rumble while idling. A low tone & powerful sound while accelerating. Slight discernible drone when cruising. Overall I'd call it a smooth "Big Block" audio experience. I love it.

After a couple of weeks I decided to address the slight drone @ 70-80 mph! I had my exhaust guy build a 2.5"x26" tube capped @ one end with a 90* bend @ the other end to use as a Helmholtz Resonator. He cut a hole in the 3" tube just behind the factory resonator and butt-welded the 90* end of the tube into it. It runs parallel to the factory 3" tube ending about 2" in front of the muffler. Problem solved for $50, easy/peasie. This 100% resolved all drone, period. All other sounds; idle, accelerating, etc. remain unchanged. Now while cruising the sound is a low distant rumble, perfect.

Post some pictures, please.

I've had 2 mufflers welded in, one magnaflow and my current, flowmaster 10. I still have the stock resonator and while the magnaflow was slightly deeper than stock, it made way more noise inside the cabin. The flow master on the other hand is quieter inside while making huge noise outside. Deep and comparable to my camaros borla ATAK system. I'll post up videos in a couple hours.

Yep. Magnaflow on my last truck droned big time.
