I emailed my stock tune to MPT after the update and the tune does in deed need updated. I paid the $25 and am waiting for the updated version to come back. I can't imagine there is much time involved in adjusting it since the fee is only $25

I just got the update from my dealer as well and sent the $25 to MPT, re-read the new stock file, e-mailed it to them, and re-installed the MPT tune. While I was at it I finally had them remove the auto start stop feature. This by itself is worth the $25 I have come to realize. They said that the speed limiter is automatically increased. I had been using the 93 PRX tune and went with the performance / tow tune for this install. I would describe this tune as while still very powerful different than the 93PRX. She feels smooth as silk now. I'm not sure if it is the update or the different tune.

Not a lot of effort, but how many people are in front of you in their queue

That's probably true

I think its the update that makes the big difference. I'm pretty sure the tune just does multiplication off of the factory programming. So it wouldn't have any affect on the issues that the factory programming had.

I think that you are correct. I definitely recommend that everyone with a 2017 especially those with a tune have this ford update done at your dealer. The transmission shifts much better afterwards. I have a feeling that this is especially true if you have a tune. It is definitely worth $25 and a little time.

I've driven my truck for a few days now and probably 150 miles since the update was done. Yesterday I got my updated tunes back from MPT and loaded the 93PRX back in. The truck works GREAT now! Finally I should say!!

Tranny shifts like you'd expect it to and the hesitation/stumble is pretty much gone!

You guy who have done the Ford TCM update -

did you have any trouble getting it?

It took me 2 visits to get the factory update and I agree it was worth it.

1st pass with the s/a : please update the pcm/tcm with the current files, ... she’s 18 months old and I know there are updates.
got it back and it said “up to date” when questioned, the tech did nothing, just checked it and apparently whatever it comes with is good enough.

2nd pass: Update the pcm/tcm. I don’t care if it’s “up to date, hook it up to the machine and load the newest”.

- they call back and say they won’t unless there’s a warranty concern. I had to think on the fly and said ‘funky shifting and odd sounds at startup’ - that worked. I wouldn’t say I have those symptoms but I will say the shifting was lazy.

afterwards, much, much improved

I work for a Ford dealer so it's no problem for me getting it done. But I did have legitimate issues with driveability of the engine and trans. There is only 1 update but it does both trans and engine updates.

There are about 4 different driveability concerns that all fall under the update.

Out of curiosity when was this Ford update created? My Raptor was built April of '18. Would I want to look into this?

Can you list these Concerns, so that we can walk in their and then should have no problem getting the update without allot of hassle--thanks
Can you post the TSB, or the Number as well

That ****** me off. I just took my truck in to get recalls done and specifically mentioned the transmission hard shifting and dabs delays that almost render sport mode worthless. The said there was noting more current. I’ll uave to look but bet my truck built close to then as I bought it in December 2017. Mine is noticeably more rough than a couple buddies raptors as well as the one I drive at assault. Perhaps I need to push harder and or on a different dealer. Really sucks too because as soon as I left the dealer I came home and installed flash tune.
