My REAL WORLD NUMBERS are 8.41 (city) during the winter months - I wish they would leave the fuel mixture alone!

October I was at 12.45 city

With today's technology and the ability to monitor things the way they can it sure would be nice to see a real system that worked better than this estimate...

Im 100% with you on this one. My 06 Mazda3 GT did it. In the summer though with my 5.4 I average 15-16 and I like to go fast. I just get this feeling down my spine and have to floor it! Should be better now with the CAI

makes sense for it to go down. you're getting zero mpg while you're going zero mph. I could care less what the instantaneous mileage is, I'd like to see real calculated mpg as well, rather than the computer readout, and not guys pressing reset while doing 50 mph downhill behind a tractor trailer to get their instantaneous reading.

Oh I hear ya, my wife's Audi has avg mpg and actual mpg depending on how far you push the gas.

We also have a "miles to empty" which obviously should and does represent idle time but avg mpg should be a representation of what you get while actually driving.

and idle time counts as driving time. Otherwise your city mileage would be nearly the same as your highway mileage if all of the "stop" time is elminated from the stop & go that makes city mileage what it is. Actually probably better because more time is spent at lower speeds with less wind resistance. Stop time and idle time most certainly does count in MPG. Thats rolled up when you hand calculate it out as people have been doing for decades and decades, so no reason it shouldn't be included in the computers calculation as well.

Does the Raptor need to run on 92 octane ... or can it run on 89 octane? I already burn tons of premium fossils with my Dodge Viper. Thanks for your feedback.

No you don't need to run 92+ octane.
To get your "Rated" 411 HP, Ford says you need to run 93.

But Raptor will run fine on 85-87
