I personally do not give a flying **** about all this stuff. I am not sure why i even bother sticking my nose in this another useless beat up session that was supposed to be a thread of some sort.
First of all drag racing trucks is nonsense, they are off road trucks not sport cars.
And if you do fly down the street make sure you have the brake package to stop you.
I love my Gen1 and the guys that bought Gen2s love they trucks. So be it.
I do not give two ***** which one is faster. They are still Raptors and there will be differences in technology. Why can't we all get along, considering the fact that we all belong to the same forum and share the same passion for these beasts.
Lets talk about something that can benefit all of us.

lol I like your style but this is just the way this place is and has been as long as I've been here. If we aren't arguing about gen1 v jen2 then it's icon v fox v king or 5.4 v 6.2 or right Twix v left Twix. Frf is like an Irish family reunion, everyone is drunk and looking for a fight.

Drag racing is not pointless. It's a point of comparison and has been forever. It's a simple data point that shows which truck is faster in a straight line.

Yeah, we get it, the raptor isn't a drag race vehicle but from the beginning of vehicles no matter what it is people will line up next to one another and race and see who/which is faster.

The Gen2 is faster in a straight line. Simple data point no matter how arbitrary it is for an offroad truck, it's still a data point of comparison. Every single reviewer, magazine, blog, youtube channel, tv channel, etc will post 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times for every vehicle they test whether it's a truck or a pure bred track car.

The Gen 1 is slower, now let's stop bickering and move on and stop making excuses for everything.

I think the key word in all of that is arbitrary.

Clicked this thread to see how close the Gen1 would be to the Gen2, since obviously the Gen2 will be faster, but it quickly turned into a funny shit talking thread.

I have a legitimate question though. Are all these Gen2 numbers (0-60, 1/4 mile) coming in with 4 wheel engaged? Doesn't the 17 have the fancy AWD/4WD transfer case. Just wondering if the '17 will auto engage awd/4wd under a heavy take-off.

I think you mean ford built the j2 to appeal to the masses. Which is true and I get it.

Weird. Just like they built the j1 to appeal to the masses.
