After overcoming some tranny cooling problems I've now run into some engine heat issues. I upgraded my Roush supercharger to the 69mm pulley and full Kooks headers. Now I find that when towing my toyhauler up the rocky mountains I can start heating up my motor in a few steeper spots when the engine is racing a bit more than normal. I don't think anything is actually wrong, I just think the truck is now putting out more power and more heat. I can keep it under control if I'm very conservative with the throttle, but I'm thinking it's time to beef up the engine cooling. The only option I really see so far is the Mishimoto radiator - which is fairly new (https://www.mishimoto.com/ford-raptor-performance-aluminum-radiator-2010-2014.html). Has anyone had experience with this thing? It's spendy, but seems like it could do the trick. It claims to occupy the same footprint, and space is a concern for me since I'm running the AFCO heat exchanger and Saudi transmission cooler as well as a winch (but I don't think that'll be in the way). It also claims to add additional tranny cooling, which is never a bad thing given the whooping my truck has to put up with.

Thanks in advance.

Full race and Ron Davis have decent radiators . I have a Ron Davis it is the largest you can fit without modifying anything. Works very well but is twice as much as mishimoto and full race . http://www.rondavisradiators.com/Ford-Raptor-Radiator.htm
Interesting. Options are good. The Ron Davis site appears broken. How does the full race compare to the Mishimoto? Is the Ron Davis worth double the price? What does it do that makes it superior?

Mishimoto seem cheap quality thin aluminum . Ron Davis is stout . 2 years no issues at 116 ambient. coolant stays at 188 to 195 at highway speed 85 + mph im running Whipple 12 psi boost . But don't push it hard as in full boosting it in summer . dont tow either. Buy once cry once I dont skimp on anything cooling related in arizona . Ron Davis you probably have to call for pricing . I think it was a 3 week lead time they build to order. CBR trans cooler in front bumper

Definitely go with Ron Davis or Full Race. CSF also makes a 2 core drop in replacement radiator that is worth looking at (part number CSF-7043).

Mishimoto is hot garbage based on my experience with them in racecar world.

What heat exchanger are you running?

Appreciate the feedback. This is why I ask these things!

That CSF says made in China. Makes me worry about quality.

Stock small Whipple with my own dual fan set up. Larger Whipple HE blocks to much airflow for arizona

Did you ever get your Tune adjusted for the OEM radiator fans to turn on sooner and a higher percentage?

That solved it for me, I've talked about that for years on this forum.
It's crazy, you have three layers of air reducing fined coolers,
1) being Tranny and Power Steering coolers,
2) the AC condenser,
3) the radiator.
How in the heck is air supposed to flow freely throw them, is beyond me.

If you're worried about foreign manufacturing quality, stay away from Mishimoto then..

CSF isn't a small company. They supply OEM's and have huge pull with manufacturing. Chinese mfg doesn't mean low quality, it depends what you're paying and you're relationship with suppliers.

That being said, the three mentioned will all do well.
