I think that 511 hp is ********. What kind of technology would Ford have to resort to in order to get that kind of horsepower out of a middling V6 and a couple of blowers, and what would technology like that do to the price of the truck?

Remember: Ford's real goal is sales, not horsepower.

So now we've got two 511 hp threads being pushed by a single OP with no substantiation. Ah well, we're going to have affordable health care for all, affordable higher education for all, a foreign policy that actually accomplishes something, millions and millions of foreigners who will do nothing but enhance the economy, and everyone will live happily ever after. So why not an affordable 511 hp Gen 2 Raptor? I like fairy tales.

Just playing devil's advocate, I don't think it's that much of a stretch. First off, the tech is there already. We know the truck can handle it since Hennessy does much more in the velociraptor with a stock drivetrain. On the engine side, it's really a question of boost pressure. After market is already close to, if not over 500 already with the current 3.5, and the GT is over 6 with the same engine. I think it's more a question of longevity, and I'd bet that Ford has engines on the dyno still, testing just what's possible.

I mean, if it's 450 stock, you know the aftermarket will have it at 500+.

I'm curious if it's a 'track only' engine mode if it counts against CAFE averages.

I don't know if they'd do it or not, but breaking a big round number like 500 is a big deal psychologically speaking. The press would eat it up, and with these cars, that's really what they're after - they're halo cars, and while I'm sure Ford wants to sell as many as they can, what they really want is the press.

Not sure what any of this has to do with immigration.

Lol remember the days when ford would go on record and say if the raptor had any more power that it would be too dangerous lol... I don't see them getting 510 at all and 450 sounds like that will be the max output from the factory

What these dumb dumbs that don't own trucks don't realize is when you are mashing at even 50mph in the desert it is sketchy because it is so smooth you think eh I'm not going that fast until you need to stop immediately for a wash out or some other hazard. So when you're at 100mph across the desert floor you really should have a cage because if shit hits the fan you're most likely ****** at that speed. The Raptor doesn't need more HP, it needs new IWE's and Power Steering, Steering Racks/Gearboxes, new Rear Window Defrosters, etc. Fix that shit and quit ******* with bragging specs that are not applicable in real life.

$60,000 Ford Raptor and $400,000 Ford GT with the same engine? I've got some ocean front property in AZ to sell you.

I don't think anyone belives it will be the same engine. However, they will all be coming out of the same plant, even if they only share a new stronger block the engine could make a lot more HP. Eitherway, the HP number is just speculation, what is interesting is how the HP effects peoples buying decision.

9 out of 10 Raptors are street queens so they would care.

Fair point. I was just trying to have a convo about HP and member buying decisions and then he decided to derail the thread. I do not care if someone hates the Gen2, but can we atleast let people discuss?

My 5.0 2wd is 1200 pounds lighter than my Raptor. They are trying to get close to 700hp out of the SC'd 5.0 but I don't know how reliable that's going to be. The SC setups are really similar fro what I'm told.

Do you know what the internal differences are between the 5.0 in the F-150 and the 5.0 in the Mustang? I ask because I see Mustang6G guys talking about 800 hp on stock internals.
