There is a dealer in Fullerton, CA that has a dozen sitting on their lot at 20k over MSRP saying they can cut a deal at 15k. Looks like they are flying off the shelves... Yeah right!

I know Ford has nothing to do with dealer shenanigans but it does tarnish the brand considering the dealerships all represent the organizations from a customer facing standpoint. I know many have moved on to other options with their dissatisfaction in the process only to return in the future once the dust settles.

I got my 802 screw at Capitol Ford in San Jose for +5k. I spammed every dealer within 100 miles and came up dry. I'm happy with what I got. Sunnyvale and Walnut Creek are absolute scoundrels at > +30K and won't ever get my business.

I live in Walnut Creek. They quoted me +10k so I bought out of state. Are they even higher now?

+$30K. They said they'd cut me a "deal" at +15 if I ordered. I'm in Danville. :)

Autonation Ford Littleton, CO wouldn't let me test drive Raptor.

So, I got my bonus and was (until yesterday) ready to purchase a 2017 Raptor. Went to Autonation Ford in Littleton, CO. As soon as I got out of my truck, I was pounced upon by a salesman named Mark who asked if I had worked with anyone at that dealership before. I replied "no" and he asked me what brought me into the dealership. I told him that I was definitely buying a Raptor, wasn't considering any other vehicle but wasn't willing to pay over MSRP. He said they were selling for $10k over MSRP and I said, that's fine but it's not what I am paying. He asked if he could "open one up for me" so I could get in. I said yes and he disappeared. Five minutes later a salesman named Abraham approached me. I told him that I had already talked to Mark. He said that Mark sent him out to work with me. I said ok can you open it up for me, to which he replied that he didn't have the keys. Sensing that they weren't taking me seriously (maybe because I had my 10-year old son with me?), I said can I test drive a Raptor. He said they don't allow test drives. I said who pays $75k for a truck they can't test drive? He said that Raptors are special and people that want them don't need to test drive them. As he was saying that, a 2017 Ruby Red Raptor (which has been sitting on the lot for over 30 days now) pulled up right next to us and a gentleman and his wife got out of the front seats and a salesman got out from the back. I asked the gentleman and his wife if they had test driven the truck to which he replied "yes". I looked at Abraham (the salesman who wouldn't let me test drive) and he practically ran back inside without saying a word. Thinking that perhaps Abraham was going to get the keys, I waited around chatting with the guy and his wife about Raptors in general. After 5-10 minutes I began to suspect that Abraham wasn't coming back. Then a third salesman came out and said that I couldn't test drive a Raptor because the eventual buyer doesn't want any mileage on them. At that point, I concluded that these guys for whatever reason had no interest in my business.

Just thought I would relay the story of what I consider to be the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. I also think some of these dealers are really jeopardizing the Ford brand with their condescending sales tactics.

I hope one dealer does not stop you from buying what you want. I live in a small town in South Carolina and we have a Chevy dealership that would not let my wife and I test drive a car on there lot two weeks ago. We bought Her a Mustang from the same Dealership I bought my 17 Raptor from. So I can say that it did cause us to buy somewhere else, and a care my wife had not thought about until this. She did go by the Chevy dealership and told the owner and GM Thank You for turning us away, because she really Loves Her Mustang! You are way late in the game trying to buy a 17 for MSRP off the lot, hope you find one and a good dealer, like we have.

Bud, that’s a shameful display of arrogance on the part of the dealer and I think that has nothing to do with your Son. if anything, they could hook your son on the truck faster than you, since he won’t have to make the payments

I would like to think the dealer salesbots simply weren’t aware enough to be able to speak as to test drives, but either way, it sounds to me like they were simply unwilling to negotiate.

Photoneffect has a good tool for finding Raptors, search here for his search
“engine”.

That tool Photoneffect created is awesome - Ive used it to contact a bunch of dealers in my state - CA - and the entire process has almost made me throw in the towel on getting a new truck. Several dealers won't even provide any pricing info - they are basically asking for offers. I don't blame them for making an extra buck (or $10-20k) if they can find someone to pay it. But when I see trucks sitting on lots or listed on websites for 30-60 days or more and the dealer is either pushing for $25k over or not providing any pricing at all, I have to wonder what the strategy is. Even the dealer lots i've walked on, Ken Grody for example, they don't even try to "downsell" me into a lesser expensive vehicle when I cringe at the 25-30k markup. Ive been a Ford guy my whole life but I am starting to lose my enthusiasm.

CA is going to secede anyway, so you may as well start looking to ROUSA to buy Raptor, property, etc.

(ROUSA = rest of USA )

Once they do, and all the dust settles, CA raptor cost will probably triple.

You guys know what you’re going to call yourselves post secession?
