I have been dealing with several dealerships in the midwest on some 17's. I literally just got off the phone with one, who said they are veteran friendly so instead of 10k over, they would be willing to come down to 6k over.

Then he proceeded to tell me they already have a 6k over offer that they refused. He said they all sell for 10k over.

He made it sound like 6k "IF" he could even do it, is such a great job of lowering price!

Looking like a 17' for me is getting slimmer and slimmer, due to not willing to pay ADM. I recently got on a 18' list from DARIN.

I spoke to one dealership near me. I told them I would pay MSRP for the Raptor that's been sitting on their lot for over a month. The genius told me, "We are not going to lower the price. If we sell it at MSRP, it would have been sold by now." Uhhh...isn't that the point?

classic!!! :ROFLJest:

I understand that everyone is in business to make money! But even selling us these Raptors at MSRP, they are making approximately 6k between invoice and hold back.

These certain "greedy" dealers all have Raptors sitting on their lots. All dealers that sell at MSRP, all have sold out on allocations allotted to them, happily selling them to make 6k roughly.

Sorry. But you guys don't understand how it works. They only get so many. So it would be stupid to sell at msrp if you can sell it at a higher price.

If they could sell as many as they want then yes, it would be stupid to hold out for top dollar.

What's the carrying cost per day on a 60k invoice? Assuming dealer uses floorplan and not paying cash for inventory.

If we don't understand how it works, then explain to me why (almost) all the dealers who have huge markups, have theres still sitting on there lots and dealers who sell at MSRP are sold out?

What's the carrying cost per day on a 60k invoice? Assuming dealer uses floorplan and not paying cash for inventory.

Exactly, these "greedy" dealers who have these 10k markup Raptors sitting on there lots are paying carry cost and APR% on their floorpan through FORD.

Dealer marks up $10G, if he gets lucky, then someone pays that. Huge profit. But if not, he lowers price and may sell for $3-5G over msrp.

so what if it sat on his lot for even months! He more than made up the carry cost with the extra $$$ he sold it for.

What dont you guys understand???

I would think ford corporation wants to sell as many as possible, they didn't make these to sit on lots for months to make dealers $$$$

I ordered my first truck at +3k, supposedly, they never wanted to put anything in writing so I got the feeling they were going to try and jack with me when it came in.

I got a call about 2 months later from another dealer offering to order one at MSRP, but I didn't take it because my first order was about to be built and didn't to wait anymore.

I found my current truck through this forum and got MSRP.

So I basically had 2 MSRP deals on a '17. It's possible.
