I agree with the frustration in this thread so I'll vent...If any dealer or ford is reading these I will say that I'm far more worked up about the work necessary to find out the true price of a vehicle than I am about the actual adm. I understand supply and demand. This system is broken and I'm tired of the excuses for trucks that are already sold, have a different price, or frankly don't even exist. Just Saturday i talked to a dealer who has actual photos of the truck in their lot so it's been updated, their website has the price shown as msrp. Send an inquiry and they call you to say 25k over. If they can post pictures they can post the correct price. And to boot, they show another raptor listed as "in transit", I asked and he said it's 6 months out. How is that possible? It's baiting people. I prefer a raptor but I'm tired of chasing false leads. I'll keep looking but I went from looking for a new raptor to looking for a new truck.

If I am paying 80-100k for a Raptor then I am going to just wait out a Hummer EV allocation. 0-60 in 3 seconds and 9 thousand lbs plus the removable roof. I like it a lot better for the money.

Plus I can laugh at Raptor owners paying 100-150 bucks to fill up while I pay 0-10 bucks.
Hummer ev will be great as long as you stick to your 329 mile range.
However, I use my Raptor for off roading, hauling, and road trips. I have yet to see an electric vehicle that can do all that practically. So for now, this Raptor owner will be laughing at the ev owners.

People whining about ADM on Raptors should be thankful that they're not shopping for a Kia.
Yes, because something is becoming more and more typical of dealers we should all accept it as "the new normal". Do away with MSRP and just let dealers charge whatever they want in the name of "free market capitalism", right? I mean the markets are never manipulated and it's as simple as supply and demand like econ 101 taught us.

Travel by donkey?

I will say that part of that probably has to do with the limits of the inventory system. If they don't have a category for "coming in 6 months", so "in transit" is the best approximation. The alternative of leaving it completely off the system could be more confusion. However, you certainly could add the approx arrival date in the description or something.

In this case you have thousands of independent dealers scattered all over the country selling the exact same thing. Their ability to manipulate the market might exceed mine. Maybe. Do a quick thought experiment. Say someone protected us from gouging by passing a law that no one could sell above MSRP. Who ends up getting the product? People with connections. And those people are? The rich and powerful. The same ones who are buying product today above MSRP. Everyone else can suck it on the waiting list. The only difference the anti-gouging law would make is that the rich would pay less for their luxury goods and the middle class would wait even longer to get a chance to buy. If our high schools taught basic economics the world would be a very different, and much better, place.

My wife has a tesla model 3 and she loves it but in the winter on highways it uses battery much quicker than I'd prefer. She has a heavy foot and that doesn't help but range anxiety is a thing. The superchargers are everywhere and can recharge quickly. I have a deposit on a lowly 800 hp hummer, but haven't decided on it yet.

The Hummer is going to be a great vehicle, to me the Gen 3 Raptors have the technology upgrades and lets face it that is the only reason to go from a Gen 2 to a Gen 3. The Gen 2 and the older front end is a lot better looking than the square rounded front of the new F150. It makes the new F150 look smaller and less square plus on a Raptor package the Gen 3 just doesn't look right.

I would get an EV Bronco if they made one right now but they don't so you have to go up market to get the Hummer. With an EV Bronco I could justify keeping my Gen 2. However, the Gen 3 is not worth large ADMs and markup but with credit people can buy anything. Just when the market slides or they get tired of that 1200-1800 truck note then they will dump them lose 20-30k but still find a strong market to sell in. For those of us use to paying wholesale and invoice prices just 18 months ago this is a very bitter pill to swallow. The 37 package is nice and the picnic table in the center console is sweet but over all the truck is not as aesthetically pleasing as a Gen 2.
